IBKR Weather and Temperature Markets
Interactive Brokers lists ForecastEx daily high (UH) and low (UL) temperature contracts in 24 cities, settled on Weather Underground, and Kalshi's daily high in 7, settled by Kalshi's rules.
What IBKR lists
IBKR's ForecastTrader lists two kinds of temperature contracts from two exchanges:
- ForecastEx daily high and low. A UH (high) and UL (low) product for each of 24 cities, named by region, such as UHLGA and ULLGA for New York. These are the same contracts Robinhood lists, under the same tickers and rules, plus New Orleans (UHMSY, ULMSY), which Robinhood does not list.
- Kalshi daily highs. Kalshi's daily high series in Austin, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and New York. These are Kalshi markets and settle on Kalshi's stations by Kalshi's rules. IBKR does not list Kalshi's daily lows.
IBKR does not list ForecastEx's hourly (HRU) contracts; those are on Robinhood. On a minuteTemp city page, pick IBKR in the market toggle to see the ForecastEx contracts on the station they settle on.
How IBKR temperature markets settle
ForecastEx: Daily high and low contracts settle on the Weather Underground Daily Observations table for the named station and date: the highest temperature shown for highs and the lowest for lows, over the station's local calendar day. A day is final once the first observation of the next day is published, and settlement is normally no later than the day after expiration. Gaps in the day's observations are not filled in: the published table counts as it is. The rules are ForecastEx's Daily Temperature Contract Terms.

- Yes. ForecastEx is the exchange, and Robinhood and IBKR are brokers, so both list the same daily contracts under the same tickers and rules. IBKR also lists New Orleans (UHMSY, ULMSY), which Robinhood does not.
- How do the Kalshi contracts on IBKR settle?
- By Kalshi's rules, on Kalshi's station: the official high for the station's NWS climate location as reported by The Weather Company (then the National Weather Service), not on Weather Underground. IBKR lists Kalshi's daily highs only, not its lows.
- Does IBKR's New York market use LaGuardia or Central Park?
- Both, for different contracts. The ForecastEx contracts (UHLGA, ULLGA) settle on LaGuardia Airport (KLGA). Kalshi's KXHIGHNY, which IBKR also lists, settles on New York City Central Park (KNYC), so the same day can settle on two different highs.
