Denver temperature market FAQ

Which weather station settles the Denver temperature markets?
Robinhood, Polymarket and IBKR markets use Buckley Space Force Base (KBKF). Kalshi markets use Denver International (KDEN).
How do the Denver temperature markets settle?
Polymarket settles on the hourly data ("Show Hourly Data") of NOAA's weather.gov timeseries for KBKF, in whole °F: the highest reading of the day for daily highs and the lowest for daily lows. Weather Underground's Daily Observations table is used only if NOAA's data for the day is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET the next day. Robinhood and IBKR list ForecastEx Denver temperature contracts, which settle on the Weather Underground Daily Observations table for KBKF: the highest reading of the local calendar day for highs and the lowest for lows. The day is final once Weather Underground publishes the first observation of the next day. Kalshi settles Denver high and low markets on the official high or low for KDEN's NWS climate location, as reported by The Weather Company (then the National Weather Service).
What are the Kalshi, Robinhood and Polymarket tickers for Denver temperature?
Kalshi lists the Denver daily high under series KXHIGHDEN and the daily low under KXLOWTDEN. Each day is its own event, such as KXHIGHDEN-26OCT16 for October 16, 2026, with one market per strike. On Robinhood and IBKR, the ForecastEx Denver daily high is UHBKF and the daily low ULBKF. Each contract is one strike on one day: UHBKF_101626_80 asks whether the high exceeds 80 °F on October 16, 2026, and ULBKF contracts ask whether the low is below a strike. Polymarket has no tickers. Its daily event is titled "Highest temperature in Denver on October 16?" with the slug highest-temperature-in-denver-on-october-16-2026, and the daily low event's slug starts with lowest-temperature-in-denver.
What are UHBKF and ULBKF?
They are the ForecastEx daily high and low temperature products for Denver, listed on Robinhood and IBKR. ForecastEx, not Kalshi, is the exchange. UHBKF contracts ask whether the day's highest temperature at Buckley Space Force Base (KBKF) will exceed a strike, and ULBKF contracts whether the lowest will be below one, with strikes 1 °F apart. Both settle on Weather Underground's Daily Observations table for KBKF for the local calendar day. Kalshi's Denver markets settle on a different station, Denver International (KDEN).
Can I trade Denver temperature markets on Coinbase?
Yes. Coinbase lists Kalshi's Denver temperature markets (KXHIGHDEN, KXLOWTDEN) under the same tickers: the markets are operated by Kalshi, share Kalshi's order book and settle by Kalshi's rules, on the same station. Coinbase's prediction markets are not available to Nevada or Michigan residents.
How often does minuteTemp update Denver?
KBKF updates with each METAR report, about hourly. KDEN updates every minute. Paid plans refresh the dashboard every 60 seconds; the free plan is delayed 3 minutes.
